Award Winning Night
Sunday, March 19th was a great
night for me. It was the night of the 21st Annual Young Artist Awards. An annual event,
set aside to recognize and reward the talents of deserving young actors and actresses. it
also gives young performers and their families the chance to get together, catch up and
enjoy each other's company.
It was an honor to receive my certificate of nomination for Best Performance in a
Feature Film as a Supporting Young Actor for my role in "Deep End of the Ocean."
I also had the chance to serve as a presenter for the evening's activities. It's always
great to make that announcement... "and the winner is...", and then present some
lucky young performer with their trophy.
One of the highlights of the night was getting to present opposite my friend and former
co-star from "Night Ride Home," Thora Birch. Together, Thora and I not only
presented winning awards, but also received the winning award in our own categories. Thora
won the award for Best Performance in a Feature Film, Supporting Young Actress for her
incredible performance in "American Beauty."
It was great seeing Thora again and having the chance to share in the excitement of the
Young Artist Awards. |

| What are your plans
for the summer? I mean hey, I think it's great that you're on the web right now checking
out my website and catching up on all of my latest news. But, get out from behind that
computer screen and get up off of that couch. It's summer... go out there and make your
own fun. I don't know about you, but life couldn't pass me by even if it tried! I just got
back from a ten day, non-stop, action filled vacation in the mountains of Colorado. I
lived on the edge of excitement every day. I went four-wheeling over a mountain pass, rode
class four river rapids and mountain biked over some extreme trails. Summer will be over
before you know it. Don't let it pass you by. Get on the fast track and catch some action
doing the thing you love most! Join a summer ball league, get involved in a volunteer
program or go to camp. There are no boundaries, only possibilities. Life is good! |

Rocket's Red Glare
I just finished shooting a new film called, "Rocket's Red Glare." It
will air on the Fox Family Channel this August. Check back later for the exact date.
Working on this film was great. It was shot in Santa Maria. I had never been that far
north along the California coast before. The area was so awesome. Everyone on the shoot
was great. The producers and the director, who also wrote the script, were all young. The
energy on the set was high. We got the job done and had a lot of fun doing it. There were
endless night shoots, but everyone worked together.
I celebrated yet another birthday, my 17th, on a movie set, but I'm not complaining.
The birthday presents are a definite perk. The guys all pitched in and bought me a Zap
Bike. It's an electric scooter and it's a great way to get around, especially on a remote
set. It was easy to find me, I was usually cruisin' on my Zap Bike.
Working with Robert Wagner was probably the best reason for showing up for work
everyday. We had a lot of fun just hanging out, talking and playing cards. He plays a mean
hand of poker and even taught me a few tricks of the game. I think I managed to break
even.
"RJ" plays my grandfather in the film. The story has a lot to do with
relationships, but especially the one between the boy and his grandfather. My character,
Todd, has some heavy fears to overcome, is reaching for a dream and manager to accomplish
some amazing goals as the story is played out.

"Oh
behave!" Not me and "RJ." We were too busy cracking each other up between
scenes to get too serious. But, when the director yelled "action" we were right
on cue.

When I'm in LA, there's always a
lot of celebrity events and award shows to attend, there is always a beautiful young lady
to escort for a fun and entertaining night on the town. Haley and Zoey are two of those
ladies. It's always fun to spend time with them when I'm in town.

super heroes, the Dynamic Duo management team of Lee Peterson (R) and Cynthia Land (L).
These two ladies make a great management team. They keep me busy flying from LA to New
York and back again on a moment's notice. It's their job to find great scripts, make the
contacts, schedule meetings and negotiate the deals that keep me doing what I love..
entertaining you! So, whether I'm coming at ya from your TV screen or you catch me on the
big screen, these two ladies are the ones that help to get me there. 
Now, here is the answer to the
most frequently asked question in all of my fan letters. "Ryan do you have a
girlfriend?" Well, as you can tell there are a lot of girls in my life who are very
special friends. I love them all for the joy they bring to my life. But, yes, there is a
special girl in my life and well, sorry but there is no picture for this insert. She's my
secret. A guy has to have some privacy! |
