HE'S BACK... HALLOWEEN...RESURRECTION

It was the summer of the return of Michael Myers. That’s right...he’s back. Just when you think he couldn’t possibly survive, he does. He’s like the energizer bunny, he just keeps going and going. You can cut off his head...or at least you think it’s HIS head. You can even charbroil him but he never gives up. The ending of Halloween...Resurrection promises fans one thing...he will be back.

Die hard fans of the Halloween fan club just keep coming back for more. This summer proved the staying power of the continuing saga of Michael Myers. The film brought in $12 million in it’s first week.

I had a blast being in LA for the full red carpet premiere event. It was an exciting night for everyone. Catching up with the cast again was the best. We all had a chance to hang out and celebrate the finished film at an after party in Westwood.

The best thing for me was hosting a night out in Oklahoma with my friends and family. We all got together for dinner and then went over to a local theatre to catch the opening night showing on the big screen. It was so cool sitting in the audience and seeing everyone react to the scary scenes. I went to buy my ticket and the guy at the window said, “Hey dude, it’s you right. The guy in the Halloween movie?” I got a free ticket out of it.

Here is a little inside scoop about the making of the film. When it was originally shot, I was the hero in the end. It was me who broke down the door, braved the fire and drug out our heroin. But in re–shoots the Hollywood big guys decided it would be better to have Busta’s character be our hero. I guess it worked. What do you think? There was rumor that the DVD might have both versions on it and you can choose the ending. We’ll see. Who knows, maybe I’ll get my shot at Michael in the next one.

NORTH TO ALASKA

This summer I had the chance to spend a week in Alaska with my sister. She has been traveling this past year doing various internships at marine institutes all over the country. She spent five months in Florida and then three months in Alaska, at the Alaska Sealife Center in Seward, Alaska. I decided to travel north to Alaska to see her and check it out.

We took a harbor cruise and got to see some amazing wildlife. We spent a lot of time camping out, hiking and fishing. I saw my first glacier and caught my first salmon. The view, when it wasn’t covered over by fog, was awesome. Glaciers are amazing to see. They are this beautiful pale turquoise blue color and make this really eerie noise when they break away and fall into the ocean.

Unfortunately, about 75% of my trip was nothing but rain. The one thing I really wanted to do got rained out. We had booked a helicopter tour to the top of a glacier where we were going to learn how to drive a team of sled dogs. That would have been too cool.
