Notable Quote: "I believe it is the nature of people to be heroes if given a chance." James A. Autry
As we take time to reflect on the events of September 11, 2001, let's remember to pray for all of our American heroes who continue to fight the fight. Micol's brother, Bryan, is among the soldiers who are currently defending our freedom in Iraq.
OCTOBER, 2003

Ahoy, Mates!

On June 1st, Micol and I took off for seven glorious days and six star filled nights to an awesome tropical getaway. After being on location for nearly nine months, shooting Veritas and Spin, we were ready for some "just the two of us" time. We do get to see each other while I'm working, but we have to grab long weekends or extended holidays and my work schedule has to agree with her college schedule, so seeing eachother can get a little tricky.

If you ever get a chance to go to the Aventura Palace Spa and Resort in Mexico, I highly recommend it. It's located about 50 miles south of Cancun and its amazing! There are pristine beaches, tropical rainforests and some great snorkeling and scuba diving. It's an all-inclusive resort too, so once you arrive you are completely taken care of.
Play Ball!

On June 21st, I had the chance to dust off my cleats, oil up the old ball glove and pick up my bat to take to the ball field, something I hadn't done in almost three years. Several local credit unions were hosting an all day tournament to benefit Children's Miracle Network. I signed up to join the "TFCU Terror Team" for a day of co-ed softball. After a night of practice with my teammates, it didn't take long to get the skills in check.

We lost our first game, which meant we had to rally back if we wanted to come out on top. Twelve hours and 6 games later we took home the second place trophy, along with some scrapes, bruises and really sore muscles, for our efforts.

All in all, it was a great day on the fields and extra special for me since I got to play with my dad. I have to tell you, for 49 the old man has still got game! He taught me everything I know about baseball.
