Puppy Love

If you've checked out the "More About" page of my website lately, you may have noticed a change in the "Pets" section. On Friday, March 14th, my rottweiler Abby gave birth to a litter of five new puppies.

We gave three of them away, but I decided to keep a male and a female from the litter. I named them Rock and Precious. They are into everything and have spent most of the summer destroying my mom's flowers and swimming and chasing the frogs in her pond. I finally had to get them a pool of their own to splash around in.

There's really nothing better than puppy kisses, lazy summer days in the hammock and country air!

Light It Up And Let It Rip!

My annual July 4th celebration was a huge hit again this year. The crowd just keeps getting bigger. Over 100 guests of all ages showed up this year to play some kickball, pitch horseshoes, grill up some great food and just have a good time.

We park the cars in the pasture behind the house, fire up a few grills and just put all the food together buffet style. Three of the guys I met on the set of "Spin" even came to Oklahoma for the celebration.

They had an awesome time hitting the lake with my "Okie" friends and me and shooting off fireworks. One of the advantages of being outside those city limits, is that we can light up the night with our own fireworks show.

I've been putting on a show for about 8 years now. I'd have to say that next to Christmas, July 4th is my favorite holiday.

Veritas came to a crashing close, thanks to the lack of support and promotion from ABC. So, as an actor you have no choice but to say, "NEXT", and that's just what I did. At the end of July, I spent two weeks in LA with my Manager. We hit one end of LA to the other taking a series of development meetings for television and films. When it was all said and done, I accepted an offer from the WB, Warner Brothers that is! They have placed me on hold for a development deal. Basically, it means they pay to place me on hold for their network while everyone works to create an awesome new TV series for me. They present options for me to consider, I meet with writers and there's a bit of brainstorming as we look at the possibilities. My representatives can pitch ideas to them too.

Whether it ends up being one of their projects, or ours, I'll be proud to be a part of the WB Network. The variety of programming they offer appeals to family entertainment as well as the teens and 20 something crowd, an audience that certainly follows my work. Development deals take anywhere from six to nine months to come together, so you will most likely be able to catch me in a new TV show on the WB in the fall of 2004. In the meantime, there could be some great guest appearances for me on the WB's existing shows.

So, all is good in Hollywood. Stay tuned and I'll let you know where to catch me next.

Spin has been making an appearance at a few of the national films festivals. It has been well received by audiences and has already won honors and recognition. It is scheduled for two showings at the Mill Valley Film Festival in October. On October 11th it will show at 6:30 p.m., at the Rafael Film Center in San Rafael. It will screen again on October 12th at the Sequoia Theater in Mill Valley. If you are in the area, make plans to attend.

The second screening of Spin will be at the Heartland Film Festival Oct. 16-24, in Indianapolis, Indiana. I will be at the screenings to promote and support the film, along with my director, Jamie Redford, and some of the other cast members. For more information on Spin and how you can catch a screening, check out the Mill Valley and Heartland Film Festival websites for all the details.

Spin will also have an American Film Institute screening in Los Angeles on November 8th and 10th. We are hoping for a 2004 theatrical release. I'll keep you posted on a premier date. Come out and support the festivals if you can.
