Tune Into This! Be sure to tune into the WB series "Smallville" on Wednesday, February 18th. That's when I make an appearance in the episode entitled "Velocity". This episode really satisfied my need for speed. You can catch me as I go up against local hero and resident superman playing bad boy Jason Dante. If you follow the show you know that anyone who decides to do battle with Clark usually ends up toast in the end, and my character is no different. One of the questions everyone is asking is…"What is going on with Spin?" Well, fans in the Miami area will want to take note. Spin will be screening at the Miami Film Festival on February 7th at 7 p.m. at The Regal 18 Cinemas.
Spin has already premiered at the prestigious Mill Valley Film Festival where it won a Crystal Heart Award. At the Heartland Film Festival the film was honored with the Klipsch Sound Award, and it screened to acclaim at the American Film Institutes AFI Fest in Los Angeles.
"Grapevine Culture" (a California based independent film review organization) had this to say…"Spin harkens back to the films of the 30s and 40s, like "Great Illusion" and directors like Elia Kazan. Redford presents…one of the most satisfying cinematic experiences in years…Tucci, always spot on, delivers one of his vest performances…all the players are top notch, particularly Ruben Blades as Ernesto, and Paula Garces as the feisty and beautiful Francesca. But it is breakout star Ryan Merriman who carries the film with that rare natural blend of vulnerability and leading man appeal, reminiscent of a young Tom Cruise.
