Happy New Year

My mom planned a ski trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico. We all loaded up and hit the road. We made the usual stops along the way. For years, whenever we head west on I-40, we stop at the Big Texan, a famous restaurant known for their 72-oz. steak. If you can eat the full meal in an hour you get it free. It's amazing the list of people who have done it. My friend Cody tried it once. He had 10 ozs. Left and thought he was going to die! We made another stop on the road trip to capture this special Kodak moment just for fun. I couldn't resist this exit sign. That's me…the Groom to be!

A Big Texan sized rocker just for laughs.

Micol and I couldn't resist a road side stop to get this Kodak moment.
Micol had only skied once as a kid and had a bad experience. I've been hitting the black runs since I was five. I teased Micol that she had to learn to ski or it just could be a deal breaker. Well, we can keep her now because she skied like a pro. I was so proud of her. She's not a cold weather girl, so she will probably never love it like I do, but she gave it her best effort. If Micol just sips cocoa by the fire in the lodge and looks beautiful, that's fine with me.

Micol takes to the snow like a pro after a few pointers from my dad.

Melinda, Monika, Micol and I stop in the lodge to warm up and grab some lunch.

We popped the cork on some champagne and then all went out to a club called Swig for New Year's Eve. We hung out, played pool, sipped drinks and danced. People watching was fun too. There was an interesting mix of people there.

Popping the top on a little bubbly to ring in the New Year.
