Last Minute Gig

I got a last minute call from my manager that I had to be in LA the week before Christmas. DreamWorks had decided to release a version of the Ring I DVD that will include a mini-feature at the end. It's all me and all wild. It was a piece they wanted to tag on to the end of the DVD to lead fans into the release of Ring II. It was amazing for me to get to go in and do six days of intense shooting to promote the project. Most of my time was spent getting into some really mind trippy stuff. There were a lot of anger and fear elements. Most of it was shot against blue screen since I had to react to things that will be inserted later as Computer Graphic Images (CGI). I think you're gonna like it. It's really different from anything I've ever done before.

Thanksgiving

When you get married you gain this whole other family, so it's twice the fun and twice the food. Micol and I celebrated with my family the day before Thanksgiving and then again with her family the next day. It was a real treat. Micol's brother was home from Iraq this year and flew in on Thanksgiving Day with one of his Army buddies. This time last year he and Nick were in Iraq fighting the war, so it was great to have them both with us. After lots of food and football, we all had a chance to screen a copy of The Colt. It was great to be able to share my newest film with family. Micol and I celebrated our five month anniversary on Thanksgiving Day. I really have a lot to be thankful for. Let's face it, when it comes right down to it, the holidays are all about family and making memories.

Christmas

Micol and I celebrated a lot of firsts this Christmas. Our first Christmas as husband and wife, in our new home that we got to decorate for the holidays for the first time, and our six month anniversary fell on Christmas day. Life is sweet! She's the best Christmas present I could have asked for.

Again, finding time to make the rounds and see all of the family and extended family gets a little challenging, but fun. We started out celebrating Christmas Eve morning with my parents, a little breakfast and gifts. We stopped of early Christmas Eve night at Micol's grandfather's home to celebrate his birthday and the holiday all rolled into one and then we met up with all of my family at my Uncle Guy's new home. It was the usual fanfare of food, fun, games, entertainment and gift exchange frenzy. My parents were traveling on Christmas Day, so Micol and I spent Christmas morning together before making a stop at Micol's folks for Christmas dinner. Bryan and some of his Army buddies were in and after Christmas we all headed for the slopes to take in some skiing at Vail and to ring in the New Year in the mountains. Micol's parents had never skied before. They took to it great, just like Micol did last year. Hope all of you had a wonderful time with your family and friends during the holidays. I sure did!
