Nothing beats walking into a fresh run of deep powder. It's a boarders dream!

My work gives me the chance to take part in some really great events for a cause. I had the chance to meet famed wrestler, ìThe Big Man Goldbergî at the Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Tournament.

My dad joined me for the golf weekend in North Carolina at the Jimmy V event. At 43 under, I was proud of my team and our third place finish.

While home for a little family time, my mom wasted no time auctioning me off for a good cause. It was my pleasure to host a luncheon for five lucky winners of a raffle held to raise funds for Childrenís Miracle Network (CMN). These fine ladies and a young fan all met me at Loganís Steakhouse for a casual lunch and a chance to pick my brain about my life and the movie making business. .

Also, just a note about the Comanche Moon auction items I had arranged for earlier in the year. The cowboy hat signed by the cast, the signed copy of Larry McMurtry's novel and the movie night treat basket with a signed copy of the Comanche Moon DVD were all recently raffled off as part of the CMN Radiothon. When it was all added up the items managed to raise $25,920. Yee Haw! Okies sure love their western movie memorabilia.

The reason the items were able to bring in so much is that while the items themselves raised $6,480, that amount gets matched and then doubled through over sources of matching and contributing funds, giving us a whopping $25,920 for the kids. The great thing is that every penny of it stays in Oklahoma for medical research. These particular funds were raised by folks calling in ìKids Clubî membership donations. Kids Club memberships place a gift basket in the room of every child who comes out of surgery or major medical treatment at Childrenís Hospital. Now that's cool.

Whenever I'm home, you can bet that one of my stops will be to catch up with long time family friend, Mike Turek, the owner of Old Germany Restaurant in my home town of Choctaw. Mike has been hosting some great wine and beer tasting events that include his mamaís wonderful German food and samplings of beer and wine from all over the world. Pictured here is me with Mike.

My sister was home in July to nail down some of her wedding plans and celebrate an old fashioned 4th of July with us. Her big day is Dec. 20th in Fiji, but her reception is here stateside on New Year's Eve. After a day of meetings with the reception planner, cake decorator and DJ and shopping for bridesmaid's dresses and other girly stuff, Monika and the girls joined me and the guys at one of my local hangouts.

It's where I go to shoot some pool and darts and have a few cold ones with the boys. Pictured left to right are: Holly, Monika, Chance, Melinda, me, Nasiba and Trey. It was great having Monika home. I hadn't seen her for 2 Ω years. My work and her work take us in completely different directions. Iím all over the place and Monika has been living and working in New Zealand for the past five years. It will be great for Micol and me to see her again for her big day on the island and then back home in Oklahoma for the Christmas holiday and New Year's.
